Mining Finland and the GTK (Finnish Geological Survey) kindly invited MiningIR’s media team along to the first ever NMIC conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Helsinki last week.
A broad range of topics was discussed, from mining practicalities in the Nordic region such as licensing, logistics and processing, through to the unquestionable beauty of the ancient geology and shear scale of unexplored territory still available to play with in Scandinavia.
One key topic raised time and time again was the need for engaging investor communication and media from Scandinavia, to showcase what is has to major investing nations in Noirth America and across Europe.
Director of Mining Finland Harry Sandström said the event had been a great success for regional companies to stay up to date and share with investors.
He hopes in future more people from outside of the industry will join to learn more about why mining was so important and to offer their opinions to the open debates and panel sessions.
