Graham Dallas from the TMX Group gives his thoughts on the Mines and Money event, but also goes on to give us an overview of the state of the mining industry at the moment. He describes the atmosphere in the industry as positive but not euphoric mood, and sees a good level of activity in the markets.
He thinks perhaps the markets are more realistic about the financial situation at the moment. Whilst it’s been a long time since a lot of people made a lot of money on mining shares – 2018 saw billions of dollars being raised by mining companies, many of it on the TSXV ventures exchange. With approximately 20% of the main index having started life on the venture exchange, that’s an important signal about the future growth potential for these junior companies.
