Elton Resources Corp. officially commenced trading on the TSX Venture Exchange on October 6, 2026, marking a significant milestone as the company turns its attention toward advancing one of Canada’s more unusual large-scale geophysical exploration targets.
The company’s common shares began trading under the symbol TSXV: DBAY, following the completion of its qualifying transaction. Elton was formerly known as Chicane Capital I Corp.
Elton shares closed their first trading day at $0.18. Based on approximately 196.9 million shares outstanding, the closing price implies a market capitalization of roughly $35.4 million.
At the centre of the Elton story is the Darnley Bay Project, located near Paulatuk in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region of the Northwest Territories.

Darnley Bay hosts a large coincident gravity and magnetic anomaly that has attracted scientific and exploration attention for decades. The company reports a gravity amplitude of approximately 132 milligals, with the broader anomaly extending roughly 80 by 100 kilometres. The target is considered prospective for nickel, copper and platinum group elements.
Mr. Carson Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, commented: “We believe Darnley Bay represents one of the most compelling geophysical anomalies in the world, and the closing of this transaction marks a historical moment for the Project. The scale and intensity of the Darnley Bay anomaly have attracted scientific and exploration interest for decades, yet the fundamental question of what lies beneath Darnley Bay has remained unanswered. In 2018, a Magnetotellurics survey not only identified the source of the anomaly but it also identified over ten large-scale targets across the project area, demonstrating clear district-scale potential. For the first time, we plan to advance these targets with the focused capital, technical expertise, and a robust drilling program that an anomaly of this magnitude deserves.”
Decades of Exploration Point Toward Deep Targets
The Darnley Bay anomaly was identified by the Geological Survey of Canada in 1969, although exploration in the region dates back even further. Previous drilling campaigns attempted to test the anomaly, but none successfully reached the principal targeted formations at depth.
A major step forward came in 2018, when Quantec Geoscience completed a magnetotelluric survey consisting of 116 deep-searching soundings across a 40-by-50-kilometre area. The program identified four large target areas where magnetotelluric anomalies overlap with strong gravity and magnetic signatures. The interpreted tops of the target sources are estimated at approximately 800 to 1,200 metres depth.
Elton is proposing a 5,000-metre exploration drilling program comprising up to four drill holes, with drilling intended to test the priority targets identified through the 2018 survey.

For investors, Elton’s TSXV debut provides public-market exposure to a high-risk, early-stage exploration thesis built around testing a very large geophysical system. Importantly, Darnley Bay does not currently have a mineral resource estimate, and geophysical anomalies alone do not establish the presence of an economic mineral deposit.
The next major catalyst will be the company’s progress toward drilling and, ultimately, whether modern exploration can finally determine what lies beneath Darnley Bay.
